Raven’s Throne is the 3rd quilt in a series of scenic row quilts designed by Marie Noah, and inspired by the Row by Row Experience. The row features pieced flying geese blocks in the background with a rustic outhouse nestled in the trees. This combination creates the illusion of intricate detail, yet it’s achieved with basic quilting skills. The row can be made without borders, and combined with other row patterns for a larger quilt project, or finished with the border to make a single art quilt. The choice is yours.
We had a good laugh coming up with the name for this row. Our staff generally has an abundance of unique titles to throw into the hat. Raven’s Throne seemed very fitting to the sagging old outhouse under the raven’s domain. We just had to go with it!
No Need to Cut Raven’s Throne Applique Pieces By Hand
If tracing and cutting all the intricate little pieces in Raven’s Throne isn’t your thing, our laser cut, pre-fused kit options are the way to go. All you do is piece the background, remove the backing paper from the appliques, place them in the scene and fuse with an iron. Finally add borders, or additional rows, and quilt as desired. Basic sewing skills is all that is needed to complete this project.
Stay tuned! There are more patterns to come in the series. Expected release in June 2017.
